About
Why we built a standard method for Vedic astrology
Ask three astrologers about the same chart and you may hear three answers. Most of that disagreement has nothing to do with insight: different settings, guessed birth times, different definitions and untested software. We built JyotishiVani to take those out of the reading.
What JyotishiVani is
JyotishiVani is an AI Jyotish app: Vedic astrology for iPhone and Android. It calculates your kundli, divisional charts, dashas, transits, Sade Sati, yogas, doshas and daily panchang, matches charts for marriage, and lets you ask Vani, an AI astrologer, about any of it in English or eight Indian languages.
Under the surface it is a careful piece of engineering. A calculation engine built on Swiss Ephemeris computes the chart, and the reading follows the classical texts: Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra, Phaladeepika, Saravali, the Jaimini Sutras, Prashna Marga and Tajika Neelakanthi. The AI only explains, and every statement it makes about your chart is checked against the calculation before you see it. AstroBench, our benchmark, measures all of it. See the results.
What we hold to
- Calculated, never guessed. No chart fact comes from a language model. If something was not calculated, it is not stated.
- One documented method. Fixed, published conventions and the classical sequence of judgement, the same for every chart. How it works.
- Honest about uncertainty. If your birth time cannot support a statement, we say so. If a method is not available, we say that too.
- No fear, nothing to sell. No predictions of death or illness, no confirmation of curses, no remedies, gemstones or pujas for sale.
- Your data is yours. Encrypted, isolated per account, and deleted when you ask. Privacy policy.
Editorial standards: how our guides are made
The guides on this site follow the same rules as the app.
- Numbers come from our own calculations. Every date, table and percentage is calculated with the same engine the app uses (Swiss Ephemeris; Lahiri ayanamsa, mean nodes, whole-sign houses). Nothing is copied from other websites.
- Tradition is attributed. Classical points name the text they come from. Where texts or regions differ, the guide says so and says which version the app uses. We do not quote chapter and verse unless it has been checked against a translation.
- AI-assisted, fact-checked. Drafts are written with the help of AI and then checked against the engine and the sources, and edited by the team before publication.
- Dated and corrected. Every guide shows when it was last updated. If you find an error, write to [email protected] and we will correct it and update the date.
- No fear content. We do not publish predictions of death or disaster, and we answer frightening questions (“does Sade Sati cause death?”) directly and calmly.
